About the Speakers

Sylvie Ouellette, MBA CPA

Sylvie Ouellette is the President & Co-founder of Versatil, an IBM Platinum Business Partner specializing in data management, business analytics, cyber security, and AI solutions. Recognized for being a creative thinker and a change agent for organizations, Sylvie is a highly energetic and result-oriented professional with over 25 years of experience in strategy management and transformation of organizations. At Versatil, she enjoys helping organizations take advantage of IT solutions to provide greater insight for better and faster decision-making.

Before Versatil, Sylvie has held several senior executive positions, including Information Technology Director, VP of Finance & Shared Services, Global Process Owner and Global Business Performance Leader in large corporations, such as General Motors (GM), Electronic Data Systems (EDS) and Hewlett Packard (HP). She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Université de Sherbrooke, a Higher Diploma in International Business from Leeds Beckett University in England, an MBA from the Université du Québec à Montréal, and is a Certified Professional Accountant (CPA).

Jean-Charles Parisé, P.Eng., CD

Jean-Charles is a seasoned technology professional with over 35 years of experience delivering solutions to both private and public sector organizations. An innovative leader with solid IT/IM/KM/Security experience and able to provide the strategic direction necessary to enable a business to thrive and achieve its goals. He is currently the Director of Business Development for Versatil. Prior to joining Versatil, he served as the Chief Information Officer and Chief Security Officer for the Office of the Auditor General of Canada and as a Senior Knowledge Management Specialist at the World Bank. He is also actively involved in his communities and has held various volunteer positions with non-for-profit organizations.

Jean-Charles holds a Master of Business Administration from Université du Québec à Montréal and a Bachelor of Engineering from the Royal Military College in Kingston. He is licensed to practice as a professional engineer in the province of Ontario.

Markus Pankatz, CD

Markus Pankatz is a recognized intelligence SME and public speaker in Canada and the Caribbean. Markus has designed and implemented enterprise security intelligence systems in Canada, the Caribbean and South America.

Markus joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1988 and filled a variety of roles. He joined IBM Canada in August 2011 as a Senior Technical Professional and intelligence SME. Markus joined IBM after serving in the Canadian Armed Forces for 25 years and is a veteran of the Bosnia and Afghan conflicts. In 2019, Markus joined Versatil as the Director of Intelligence and Security Operations. He also sits on the Seneca College Professional Advisory Board for the law enforcement and intelligence program.
